Thank god they have good memories, I’m lucky if I can remember why I walked into this room! I do have one personal contact who may remember such a cabinet, I’ll ping him on Monday morning. He brought some super McCauley wedges to “wedgefest”. I love a good mystery! I also got a response from McCauley, they didn’t have much info, other than the origional drivers:

I picked the boxes up today thanks Nate! Anybody have an opinion or info on them, I haven’t had any luck searching the web. I do have one personal contact who may remember such a cabinet, I’ll ping him on Monday morning.
Again if it were me that’s the direction I would look at, don’t worry I’m not going after them I have too many projects now! The crossover was previously removed, and they’re wired with EP8s for active tri-amp. I have been thinking of those cabs too – only worried about how much amp rack I would need to run em.
Will it be worthwhile for me to pick these up as a project, and mccaule drivers for them?
Nate mentioned that they are discontinued, unfortunate that McCauley doesn’t keep info on their old stuff available online. Hey guys, I am talking with Nate Conti about the possibility of me picking up his 4 unloaded McCauley s in the market place.
First, here’s the McCauley contact page: Paul Bell wrote on Mon, 08 January Please login 5620 register. Pictures to follow if anyone is interested! Add them to some subs for a high power four way system.
I have catalogues and pricing sheets back to the mid 90’s and this thing’s nowhere on any of it. We’re mccaauley on some lit but don’t hold your breath. He brought some super McCauley wedges to “wedgefest”. Y’mean nobody in PEW-allup can find anything in writing on that one?
Thank god they have good memories, I’m lucky if I can remember why I walked into this room! Maybe a PM Paul Bell? I have one inch threaded horns they swear they’ve never threaded.
Ok guys, some new info. The passive crossover most likely had some eq compensation as well for the specific impedance curves of the original 10’s and the 2 inch driver, matching that up with other drivers would take a little work. Andy Kulhavy Newbie Offline Posts: I also got a response from McCauley, they didn’t have much info, other than the origional drivers: These days, they certainly keep track of everything in databases but years ago, things were different.
Thanks for looking into it for me Paul! I love a good mystery! Well, if you don’t want them Andy Hello While I’m not familiar with the McCauley boxs but hear are some general thoughts on reloading and refurbishing cabinets. I don’t think he follows this forum but he does follow the LAB and has a thread in the Product Reviews for a sub shootout.
The two 10″ drivers are not isolated from the 15″, and the box is ported. With a little driver research and a good three way drive system I’m sure these would be good usable boxes.
With the 2 inch driver there are many to choose from, finding out the original impedance of the 2 inch will be necessary if you plan to keep the passive crossover. If original drivers are not to be found and or out of the question I would make them mccquley three way active box. He is a McCauley dealer.
I doubt if you’ll have any luck contacting McCauley for information, I have an old wedge that almost nobody there remembers.
